My motivation: I intend to take architectural photos ready to be enlarged and exhibited.
"My assiduous study, my practice and my research in architecture make that I know the problems related to the forms and the different ways of sublimating them. Weather, distance to the photographed object, observation time, patience of architectural photographers, I think these are the main things that echo in architectural photography. We must not forget the physical factor, because the photographer must know how to position himself to optimize the image of the building that he photographs in architectural photography. Many would say it's like in any style of photography, okay, but in architectural photography the proportions, volumes and distances are so great that sometimes you can walk for 1 hour before you find the right one. shot that will best enhance the photography and the building ... To realize that another shot 2 hours later is better thanks to the setting sun! This is why architectural photography can take a long time when you really care about depths of field, dives, photographic frames, changing and capricious light, photo lenses ... Speaking of lenses, I have a shift lens, specific for architectural photography, the latter allows me to build an excellent photo from the moment the shot is taken, without or very little distortion, distortions that I could rectify in post. -Photo processing, the closer you are to the best result from the start, the better it is because post - processing should essentially only be used to finalize, not to "repair" ... It is probably in architectural photography that the image becomes in fact the simplest possible: only the lines, the symbols, the points and the grains remain, the rest does not exist any more. We almost touch the basis of our visual faculties and the basis of photography, even drawing, painting. There is a purity in architectural photography that harkens back to a deep and enigmatic question about space and time, the corollary of this makes us wonder about the entire universe and what it really is, the space and time, two of the things that we have trouble defining in the end, are represented both artistically and mathematically, these notions are very present in architectural photography ... Have you already defined the space? Can you try to give a definition of time? Besides, does the latter really exist? Some will say that I am going too far, but it is partly these relevant and deep questions that give my love for architectural photography a particular texture and taste, this mixture of science, geometry and aesthetics speaks to me. in an almost magical way, but still simple in its apparent complexity. Science and philosophy have always been part of my life, so it is through architectural photography that I explore, exploit, enhance and create images imbued with mystery and which can provoke scientific and philosophical questioning. I think that these dimensions have a real rewarding place in architectural photography.
